One of things that makes walking in New York an entertaining activity on its own is not only the people watching, but the street art that seems to pop up in random places. This striking piece, situated smack at the top of the fork between Lafayette and Cleveland Pl in Soho, totally caught me off guard. I attempted to capture the scale of the sculpture, but it’s really huge. You can sort of understand the dimensions by looking at the people on the benches in the background. In addition to being huge, it was so life-like that there even appeared to be water dripping off the woman’s arms and the inner tube. I kept looking circling it from inches away just to make sure the amazon didn’t stick her head up and open her eyes. Talk about an ice breaker.
